Austin on QS
Quartersnacks posted Austin's Fuck Yinz part in preparation for the NFL Playoffs. Austin has more jerseys per clip than basically any other skate part to date.

drumroll....
Greg and Jerry gave the thumbs up to have it at the shop. I just assumed 8 would be okay? For now, let's just say 8 with an afterparty TBD.

When we started making this, Bill kept saying, "Dude, let's just get it done by the time we graduate college." This was just after we'd gotten out of high school and I thought, "no problem." well, four plus years later, here it is, finally out of the bag.
Trailer tomorrow.

Skate skate skate
Well, One Up's reopening didn't go according to plan, so instead of opening last friday, Greg is trying to reopen this Friday (Feb 8th). Also, a new site is in the works, which will be updated regularly. Check it (in its very early stages) here.
and check their new logo I found here

Okay, that's not actually their new logo, nor does it have anything to do with One Up Skate Shop, but I saw it, thought it was moderately amusing and said what the hell.
Steve's got a flyer up for a video premier for something called "Jackalope." I don't know what the video is, but Mr. D and Kaule have some clips in the promo, so if you feel like watching the promo or making the trip out for the premier, check it out here (promo) and here (flyer).
I've been kind of sleeping on this blog. I know my thousands of subscribers are disappointed in my lack of updates, so I'll try to get some interviews and shit going here right quick. Until then my head will hang in shame.

OneUp gets DOWN!
I'm just going to preface this by saying if you are a skateboarder of legal drinking age or just someone who can pass as such, you fucked up if you weren't at the skate crawl on Saturday night. Fucked. Up.
Yes, this past Saturday marked the inaugural Halloween Skate Crawl aimed at bringing costumed skateboarders together, putting them on their boards and sending them into the night to battle sobriety and the ever present enemy that is gravity. The night began at One Up where Daggers were pre-gaming with Iron City and skate vids. Once John Rambo and some H.B.S. Daggers arrived we headed for the bars and didn't look back. Around a dozen of us barged East Lib, Shadyside, and Bloomfield on our boards despite the rain. Aside from one mouthy front bumper, whom Dagger Porterfield handled abruptly by heaving himself into it, the only physical damages done were minor scrapes from the perilous push from bar to bar (it was the rain, not the beer, I assure you). The night came to an end at a most epic Halloween party complete with a roller coaster, a tilted room and perhaps most importantly, an open bar. Daggers held it down all night long, only pausing their Hellraising to pay respects to fallen friends, unable to make the Crawl due to physical impairment.
I filmed a little of the night's events and made a rough edit. Check it out.
In all seriousness though, I'll post some footage as soon as possible.
Big thanks to Greg and JG for getting this together, Hickey for spreading the word, and David Winters for blessing us with his mangnum opus, Thrashin.

Skate Jam, Kenny Bloggins
On Saturday August 25th, OneUp will be hosting a skate jam on Emerson Street, two blocks away from the shop. The event will feature ramps from the Redbull Manny Mania, all the Red Bull your little tummies can handle, and, of course, a lot of local rippage. There will be a best trick contest with prizes to be announced. Festivities start at 5:30 and continue on at least until sundown after which there will be a video premiere for Listen Skateboards "Viajeros Locos," in addition to various degrees of untold debauchery. Be there.
Also, there is a new blog in town courtesy of Jeff and the boys at Blank Skate Supply.

little this
I've wanted to make a new post for a while, but I just don't have a lot to report.
Jerry Cooper, Big Jerms and another One Up rider will possibly be sharing a part in Focus Skate Mag's upcoming video 'Rise and Shine' to be released this fall. Filming has already begun.
Someone built a new ledge at Polish Hill. I bumped into Luke Bennett skating at the warehouse spot and he said something about it, so when my friends and I left the strip we cut up past the Bowl and sure enough there was an angle ironed ledge there, ripe for the grinding. Always good to see.
The Atwood lot has a new addition as well. That's right, another manual pad. It seems that if you skate it before 9pm you're in the clear, but after that the feds call down the thunder (a security guard who looks like this -
) and you will be told to not skate there anymore.
and I am very thrilled to see that Josh Stewart's 3rd installment of his Static videos will be released this summer. Here is the trailer.

Austin Campfoush Gives Pink Showers
A few years ago there was this curly-haired kid that would show up to skate whenever there was a crew getting ready to head out around the cranberry area. He'd been skating less than a year and had that awkward little kid style, but it was pretty obvious that this dude, despite his curly hair, braces, and minimal experience on a skateboard, liked to go big. He jumped down everything and pretty soon people were talking about the things he was doing around the suburbs and in the city. Today the braces are gone as is the awkward style, but with just a few years under his belt on a skateboard Austin Kanfoush has shown how quickly he's progressed and how much he's capable of. Now for your reading pleasure, Moreboard's first official interview.
(MB = moreboard, AK= Austin Kanfoush)
MB: Let's get the basics out of the way: Name, Age, Place of residence, Sponsors, and normal skate crew?
AK: Austin Kanfoush. 16. Residing with my mommmas and my poppppas in dos area codes. City, venture, and hubbba. Moose is on top at that. Skating with the homies "BOLTZ n BUTTTAH"!!!!!
MB: You want to explain boltz n buttah to those not in the know?
AK: Where to begin? Maybe like boltz n buttah are a bunch of homies who like to get creative and you mostly got it but boltz n buttah is also the new homie video we got droppin excactly one year later after 7 plies. BE ON THE LOOK OUT for the new promo!!!!
MB: So do you still play football or are you strictly skating nowadays?
AK: Hahaha nice one. We won't start on that subject. No that's been out of the picture for quite a bit. It was the past, but yeah skating and camping man.
MB: Camping? Well that explains the flannels I guess. Do you know you have single handedly caused a spike in the flannel sales of Western Pennsylvania?
AK: CAMPING needs to increase in western PA that's what would be amazing. I'm not talking pusssy go pitch a tent camping, I'm talking survive in the woods, you know?
MB: Are you a tent man, a sleep under the stars man or do you rent campers and trailers like a ninny?
AK: Definitely too many bugs now. I don't want to sound like I'm conradicting my last statement about tents becauseI do pitch tents (not the best). None the less pitched, but yeah, I'm a tent man - chopping some trees down doing some fishing. I don't know where the whole bug thing came in, maybe when you said under the stars.
MB: Do you think your sponsors, namely City, would feel the same way about you if they knew that you were such a rugged outdoorsman and not so involved with the urban scene?
AK: Who knows man? I like to dance on the line of both, but like, you know... When the wild is calling for you to go camp you just got to no lying to yourself about it. It's DONE!
MB: That's some Emersonian shit right there. But back to skateboarding. What's your plan of attack for your next video?
AK: I shouldn't be telling you this man, but the actual plans are hidden in PA's AREA 51. No one really seems to know the whereabouts or even how it cam about but therein lies all the information. Since we can't access em we just cruise around trying to find new shit and having fun being dumb.
MB: I see, you don't want to divulge too much.
AK: Just making Justin mad I guess.
MB: Is he like the dad of the group? "I'll turn this damn van around..."
AK: Haha, to sum it all up in a nut shell things got rowdy on grant street in the "VAN" then me, Scotty and Brad were in Scott's car, which led to a gallon of pink lemonade being released from my hand into a title wave through the driver's side window giving Justin the pink shower.
MB: Damn, that's not some turn the van around shit, that's some "lay under the tires while I parallel park."
AK: Yeah, it was bad.
MB: So when's your contract up?
AK: Well, the Funks actually left Blank and Jeff was really cool about everything. He just lifted the contract with no grudges, nothin, just ended on a good note.
MB: Are you riding for another shop yet or are you testing the waters to see what's out there?
AK: Haha, I don't even know. We're all homies and it's all good, so if everything works out with that I'd be physched!
MB: How did you pick your song for "7 plys of love"?
AK: I accidentally downloaded it onto my I-pod(which is long gone) and played it to Justin like a couple times. He didn't really feel it till like the 5th time then I guess that was that.
MB: How did you accidentally download it? Is that like when my roommate, Bill Cunningham, "accidentally" downloads animal-on-dude-in-a-kiddie-pool-pornography?
AK: In a gramatical sense, no, but Zach had the song that P-Rod, Mikey T, and Rogers use in "A Time to Shine," like 8 months before that video came out and I pullled the whole bandwagon thing like "I like this song let's download the whole CD and pretend I like it." All the other songs sucked except for that one I guess.
MB: What kind of music do you like when you're not pretending?
AK: I'm really hyped on this band, The Black Keys. They're like bluesy 2 man band
MB: That's cool. I was expecting some burlier shit coming from a lumberjack like yourself, but I can respect your choices.
AK: Yeah, not too burley on this end.
MB: What do you think Pittsburgh needs most for its skate scene?
AK: Zero stress. Pittsburgh's just a big family so just rep it and have fun. I'm not saying everyone stresses, but just.............OH we neeed some of those plastic long benches from Cali for real just like 2
MB: You could sneak one back in your luggage if you ever head out west.
AK: Yeah, we'll make a little fund and I'll DHL two back, like overnight em
MB: That's hilarious that you said DHL
AK: Hahaha now that I think about it it kinda is. Dhl's just doin their thing. UPS and Fed Ex are just a litttle blown out of proportion if you ask me
MB: Seriously, got to keep it on the d(h)l. Anyway, you're in like what, 10th grade?
AK: 11th
MB: Are you a good student, Austin, or are you a slacker?
AK: I'm the slacker who sleeps in every class but still gets A's and B's. High school is just glorified babysitting. I mean, come on.
MB: Well, I think it's time to wrap this guy up for now so how about you give me some top 3's -pgh styles, skate spots, non skate spots, and horrid current trends - and some shout outs and we'll call it a night.
AK: Ok
Styles 1) The Panzas got it steezy 2) J Funk 3) Lil Lehigh
Skate Spots 1) Southside Hills 2) The Point Park Fountain 3) Strip warehouse ledge
Non-skatespots 1) OneUP/Timebomb 2) Wendy's in Lawrenceville 3) The River
Horrid trend - I just don't get it man. Low shoes with high pants and no socks weirds me out. Apple bottoms are tight.
Shaht Ahts to everyone havin fun n livin life one day at a time

I want this to be a lot of words and pictures and shit, but at the moment I don't have them at my disposal so for now, enjoy this
