skate goggles

You've heard of beer goggles I'm sure. The phenomenon of people looking more attractive after multiple doses of adult-drinks. Well apparently for some people beer goggles not only makes women more attractive and easier to talk to, but also makes questionable skate spots seem like the next love park.

for instance, my friend will occasionally call me up and be like "dude, i found this sick spot while i was out at the bar last night" and i'll be like.. yeah, let's check it out, only to go there and discover that this supposed ledge, pole jam, or whatever is not only located in someone's yard, but it is also going uphill, has no runway or landing, and if it does have one or both of those, there are gargatuan cracks on top and/or bottom (this IS pittsburgh after all). anyway, i just thought i'd share that, perhaps you've also experienced such a thing?

I've wanted to make a new post for a while, but I just don't have a lot to report.

Jerry Cooper, Big Jerms and another One Up rider will possibly be sharing a part in Focus Skate Mag's upcoming video 'Rise and Shine' to be released this fall. Filming has already begun.

Someone built a new ledge at Polish Hill. I bumped into Luke Bennett skating at the warehouse spot and he said something about it, so when my friends and I left the strip we cut up past the Bowl and sure enough there was an angle ironed ledge there, ripe for the grinding. Always good to see.

The Atwood lot has a new addition as well. That's right, another manual pad. It seems that if you skate it before 9pm you're in the clear, but after that the feds call down the thunder (a security guard who looks like this - ) and you will be told to not skate there anymore.
